Neglect, breast cancer and a to-do

Firstly:

My apologies for neglecting this blog. :-O. I can explain the reasons behind it though. I've recently been alternating between Mozilla Firefox and Opera (2 different versions of Opera at that) and only Opera opens up with Digg.com as a starting page and it's through digg.com that I post most of my stories. The more I surf Digg the more I'll post on here.

Secondly:

I cannot believe I call myself a fan and missed this piece of news (:-O): Sheryl Crow was treated for breast cancer! I was surfing BlogAzoo.com today and found I'm Not Too Obsessed.com. It was through this site that I learnt of Sheryl's health issues. This is backed up by a post quoting a press release on Sheryl's Official Forum. I'm actually shocked by this news and I really hope Sheryl gets better and beats the miserable, evil cancer.

However, as the press release states:

"Approximately 1 in 7 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and more than 2 million American are living with breast cancer today. I [Sheryl] am joining the more than 200,000 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.

We are a testament to the importance of early detection and new treatments. I encourage all women everywhere to advocate for themselves and for their future – see your doctor and be proactive about your health.

More than 10 million Americans are living with cancer, and they demonstrate the ever-increasing possibility of living beyond cancer. I am inspired by the brave women who have faced this battle before me and grateful for the support of family and friends.”

There's nothing I can add to that. Well written Sheryl.
