Dave2: You were right.
It's taken me all day (minus a trip to Halfods and some car maintainance) but I've finally got Xp set up. I had to reformat once when I installed the wrong soundcard drivers and again when I tried to install SP2 and it died on me. I REALLY want SP2 installed but I don't want to kill my machine again.
I might leave it for today and just set-up fun stuff. Like ITunes and copy my music across from my old hard disc! I'm as patched with SP1a as I can get. Might try SP2 another day.
